  2. Woman's World Cup:
bulletDay 1: England's world cup got off to a flying start with an important win over Spain (England 3 Spain 2). England's coach Danny Kerry said his side were "hugely fortunate" to win their cup opener. He was pleased with the execution of Christa Cullen's corner with the defending against the skilful Spanish around the circle and Charlotte Craddock's run to set up England's third, but for most of the game England were like "rabbits in the headlights", he said.
bulletDay 3: The world's third-ranked side China look unlikely to make the semi-finals after failing to score - despite many chances - against England leaving Hannah Macleod's second minute tidy up of a penalty corner the only goal of the game.Goalie Beth Storry kept the English in the match with a
series of fine saves, mostly during a second half where China dominated possession. (England 1 China 0)
