HERTFORDSHIRE HOCKEY

The County will be running a Young Leaders course in the County on November 27th and December 4th at Queenswood School. The  maximum attendees will be 20. The  places are available for boys and girls in Hertfordshire schools and clubs who would be interested  in taking this EHB qualification. The County will also offer the chance for all participants to work at JAC in 2012

The EHB Leadership Award Course Programme has been developed to provide participants with a
fundamental understanding of the key areas of today’s hockey, namely coaching, umpiring,
managing and leading in our sport. The Award is primarily developed for young people. The EHB measures the Leadership Award as one of its most important development tools. It is for
many of the participants their first step inside the ‘hockey learning corridor’ and for some it has been the start of a very impressive playing, coaching, umpiring or management career.

There are no pre-requisites to participating in the EHB Leadership Award other than a need to be
more than 12 years of age. The course is designed for people with little or no experience of
delivering or playing hockey.

The Course Programme is comprised of four modules – Principles of Leadership (1 ½ hours),
Foundation Coach (3 hours), Foundation Umpire (3 hours) and Foundation Manager (2 ½ hours).
